Through the benefit of years of experience we have grown from the publishers of the first London Motorcycle Parking Map to a range of PIE Guides and providers of a full web based mapping application for National Government. Our databases, primarily aimed at the Disabled, Motorcycle and Freight communities are expanding continuously due to customers demand for geo-referenced information.

Data collection

PIE through its researchers, surveyors and GIS staff, collects information from numerous sources and this is verified by our on-street surveys of town centres. Our data is comprehensive and geo-referenced for displaying on maps, from printed matter to mobile devices. Our data includes accessibility, accurate location and road segment identification essential for any routing applications.  Our staff constantly update our databases on a daily basis and we annually re-visit the data to ensure it is current and accurate. Bespoke Mapping Services

Our unique and evolved expertise is in the mapping and software skills which enable us to develop web based mapping applications to suit any specific need. We can take your data and overlay this to your design on OS, Collins, NavTeq mapping to suit your requirements. Two recent completed projects include; an accessibility focus application for residents within London (www.myjourney.org.uk).   The second application is a freight portal to assist deliveries within the borough as well as local business with informing delivery companies the best place and time to load and unload. (freight map). Online mapping services

We provide full mapping applications which support venues, local authorities and central governments to emphasise local content to people so they can make an informed choice about their journeys. Our clients include Lord’s Cricket Club, Earls Court, Olympia and Directgov. We offer personalised information based upon your needs or mode of transport. Click for more details.

Printed Publications

PIE has grown its stable of community guides and now publishes national and local guides for the Blue Badge holder, Motorcyclist and Van/Lorry driver. Our first map of central London for motorcyclists was sponsored by Piaggio which proved very popular. This venture into publishing has grown in size and currently the London Bike Guide is on its third edition with a complimentary riders guide covering South West England. Other Services

Satellite Navigation
PIE is working to evolve the PIE Guide concept into Sat Nav systems and take essential data and represent it well and usefully within a Sat Nav. One example of this is our collaboration with a leading sat nav software developer to create the first dedicated system for Blue badge holders (disabled people) and carers called BBNav. This system contains thousands of Blue Badge related features from parking bays to accessible toilets. We have visualised complex parking rules for on street parking by simply colour coding the base mapping UK wide. Airport Parking

An important element insome journeys includes Airports.  Creating accurate and consistents maps was key and PIE have created high quality site plans relating to parking and other accessibility facilities at each of the main UK airports. Click to view the Airport parking maps.
