Freddie, as CEO, is involved fulltime, and Mike Read is Executive chairman, bringing 30 years’ experience in the Communications and Internet sectors - successfully guiding companies through all stages of growth through to exit. 

Michael Anderson is not involved in day to day management and his perspective is that of a supportive and committed investor, with the benefit of his background in business planning and investing in, and exiting from, businesses in a range of sectors.

Mike Read - Executive Chairman

With over 30 years’ experience in the Communications and Internet sectors, Mike Read has steered companies through organic growth, acquisition and sale phases.  Mike enjoyed an extensive career at British Telecom, before moving to the US and joining AOL. He completed a 30-company ISP “roll-up” which was sold to Earthlink in 2000. He returned to the UK in 2000 to run XO Europe – the nucleus of today’s Freedom4 Group plc. In September 2006, in addition to his existing role as Chief Executive Officer of Freedom4 Group plc, Mike became Chief Executive Officer of Freedom4 Limited, a joint venture with Intel Capital formed in March 2006.

Michael Anderson MA, MSc - Director

Michael Anderson has had hands-on experience at raising finance, investing and managing in several small companies. He is a Director of Business Plan Services Ltd and a non-executive director of two other companies, one in pasta manufacturing and one in regenerative medicine. He also gives regular talks on business plan writing and angel investment.

Freddie Talberg - Business Founder, CEO & Director

Freddie is an avid entrepreneur and launched PIE in 2004. This is the second company that Freddie has set up from scratch.  The previous company was a software telecoms business (Monnet) that grew very quickly during the telecom bubble. This business was eventually sold to a competitor.  Freddie is a degree qualified Electrical Engineer with 15 years experience in the telecoms sector. He stumbled into the mapping business by fixing an immediate problem of printing a parking map for motorbikes covering central London. Since then the business has expanded year on year. Freddie was an active member of Territorial Army, commissioned in 1987 and last served in the HAC - Honourable Artillery Company. 

 

Patrick Barlow - Financial Controller

Patrick qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1989 and has worked with entrepreneurs and corporates’ on acquisitions, fund raising and disposals, most recently with Experian’s Decision Analytics division, and formerly with Lloyds Pharmacy, Baker Tilly and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
